What a night it was for Joel Bryan on Friday night as he helped Hiawatha pull out the 57-56 win over Marysville in their season opener.

Not only did Bryan have 27 points but he also drilled the game winning three as time expired to give the Red Hawks the victory.

Bryan was ultra-efficient hitting eight of 10 shots including three of five from three-point range. He also hit eight of nine shots from the free throw line.

Bryan also added five rebounds, five deflections, two steals and two assists.

Bryan missed most of last season due to a broken hand, but the expectation is for him to have a big season for Hiawatha.
