Riverside Cyclone, Conner Schultz Whirls Her Way to 3 Gold’s in DVL Track
Conner Schultz

In the final year of the Delaware Valley League it was a Riverside Cyclone senior highlighting things individually at the league meet with the best individual performance in the boys or girls competition. Cyclone, Conner Schultz took home three gold’s on the day continuing to register wins in the long jump and triple jump this season, while taking the 800 meter run title, as well.

Schultz leapt her way to wins yet again in the triple jump and long jump as she has her entire career, notching the win in the long jump with leap of 16-06 and the triple jump win with a leap of 36-04, two feet better than second place. The senior took home the 800 meter crown by nearly three seconds posting a time of 2:34.92.

Momentum definitely was in favor of Schultz coming into the DVL track meet with multiple wins this season taking the long jump and triple jump titles in the Nemaha Valley Invite, but perhaps one for her best accomplishments of her career came at the KU Relays this year.

Competing against 30 other competitors in the triple jump competition at this year’s KU Relays, Schultz registered a leap of 37-01 to grab a silver medal against some of the other top flight high school competitors from across the state. Conner also competed in the long jump and 400 meter dash at the Relays finishing with a leap of 16-03 in the long jump and a time of 1:00.99 in the 400. Her leap in the long jump earned her a tenth place finish out of 30 competitors, while she finished twentieth of 36 competitors in the 400 meters.

The Riverside Cyclone senior looks to translate her success this season into stellar performances at Regionals and State this year. Schultz looks to return to state where she last year placed second in the triple jump, fourth in the long jump and third in the 400 meter dash.
