It has been a year of records for the Oskaloosa softball team and last week it continued as senior Sophia Rockhold broke the school record for home runs in a single season when she blasted her 10th home run of the year against Silver Lake.
Along with her 10 home runs this season, Rockhold has posted a .484 batting average to go along with 32 RBIs, 31 runs scored and only four strikeouts in 75 plate appearances.
She boasts an on-base percentage of .533 with 10 stolen bases and 17 total extra-base hits on the season as well.
She also was just named a Kansas Honors Scholar, has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school and is ranked at the top of her class.
Rockhold is also a part of the senior class that has gone 46-7 in their four years along with a state runner-up finish in Class 3A in 2018 and a runner-up finish at 2A state in 2019.
She will look to lead the Bears back to state this week as Oskaloosa competes in the Silver Lake regional with a possible rematch with the Eagles who gave the Bears one of their four losses just last week.
