Julie Rottinghaus

It has been a big start to the year for the Nemaha Central track and field teams thanks in large part to sophomore Julie Rottinghaus who has been dominant to this point leading the Thunder to a team victory at Doniphan West last week.

In Highland, Rottinghaus won three events taking first place in the triple jump, long jump and javelin.

Earlier this season she had another big performance at the Thunder’s home meet, as she won four events claiming the long jump, triple jump and 100-meter dash along with anchoring the 4 by 100-meter relay team.

She has won at least two events in each meet she has competed in so far this year including two wins at the Big 7 League quad that was hosted by Nemaha Central in early April.

Rottinghaus will look to continue her strong sophomore campaign and earn a spot in the state meet as the Thunder have two weeks remaining in the regular season.
