The Sabetha wrestling team put together a strong performance on Saturday and captured a Big 7 League title behind seven first place finishes led by senior Kaden Dillon who captured the 160-pound title.
Dillon went 3-0 on the day with all three wins via pin including a pin in the championship over Perry Lecompton’s Thad Metcalfe who had just three losses coming into the match.
The win moved Dillon to 20-2 on the season where he is currently ranked third in the 160-pound weight class according to the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings.
This is off a strong junior campaign which saw him go 27-10 and finish fifth at the 321A state meet in the 152-pound weight class.
Dillon also reached the state tournament as a sophomore but did not place in the tournament.
He took second at the Big 7 League meet last season, and now will turn his attention to making a deep run at state with districts set to begin on Saturday at Marysville.
