The high school cross country season is in full swing for area athletes and so far for Doniphan West’s Chloe Clevenger it has been a great start to the year.
Last week Clevenger added to her already strong resume as the sophomore won the Hiawatha Invitational by over 30 seconds.
It was her second win already this season after she captured first place at the Marysville Invitational back on Sept. 5.
Clevenger helped lead the Mustangs to a Class 1A State Championship last season as a freshman where she finished 11th at state following a fourth-place finish at regionals.
She also took fourth at the Twin Valley League cross country meet last season which helped the Lady Mustangs win a league title.
Clevenger will now look to continue her strong 2020 season and help lead Doniphan West to a back-to-back state championship as the season continues Thursday at the Nemaha Central Invitational.
