Dohl Becomes Third Girl in Jackson Heights History to Reach 1,000 Career Points
Kylie Dohl

Last year for the just the 10th time in school history the Jackson Heights girls’ basketball team earned a trip to the Class 2A State Tournament behind the play of Kylie Dohl who earned a second team all-state selection by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

Dohl, back for her senior season, continued her prolific high school career Thursday night by becoming just the third girl in Jackson Heights school history to reach 1,000 career points in a 53-17 win at home over Maur Hill-Mount Academy.

Dohl was great all night long notching nine points in the first quarter before adding nine more points in the third before she rested most of the fourth quarter finishing with 20 points.

Those 20 points put her at just over 16 points per game on the season through the Cobras 3-1 start to the year after last year averaging 17 points and eight rebounds a night.

She has been named a first-team all-Northeast Kansas League selection the past two seasons and through the first four games Dohl is well on her way to a third.

Dohl and the Cobras have a big break for the holidays and will look to continue their early season success on Jan. 7 hosting Pleasant Ridge with tip off of the girls game scheduled for 6 p.m.
