Bosley's Big Night has Jackson Heights One Win From Class 1A State Championship Game
Jason Bosley

Last season the Jackson Heights football team wrapped up a special season with a 34-7 loss to St. Mary’s-Colgan in the sectional round of the Class 1A playoffs which many felt was premature.

Friday night the Cobras made sure that wouldn’t happen a second time as the defense was dominant holding that same Panther team to just 161 total yards of offense as Jackson Heights blew out Colgan 42-10 to advance to the sub-state round for the first time since 1983.

All season long the Cobras have relied on their talented backfield and that continued once again Friday night with sophomore Jason Bosley leading the way with 183 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win.

Bosley has been the star the last two weeks as he scored the only touchdown two weeks ago in the Cobras 6-0 regional championship win over Valley Heights which came in overtime.

On the season he is now over 1,000 yards on the ground with 10 touchdowns while has also compiled 95 receiving yards and two more scores.

He has helped the Cobras amass 351 rushing yards per game behind a big and experienced offensive line which features the senior trio of Carson Williams, Riley Watkins and Trey Manuel, junior Taylor Wamego, sophomore Hudson Roles along with tight ends Joel Kennedy and Colby Doyle.

Bosley will look to help lead Jackson Heights to the Class 1A State Championship this Friday and continue his strong last two weeks as the Cobras travel to Centralia with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. with live coverage on 103.9 KNZA.
