Konnor Tannahill

After a strong freshman campaign which saw Holton’s Konnor Tannahill reach the Class 4A state tournament, the sophomore wrestler is off to one of the best starts throughout the state of Kansas this year ranked second at 182 pounds.

Tannahill is off to a 30-3 start this season and Saturday claimed the Silver Lake Invitational with a perfect 3-0 mark after receiving an opening round bye.

He picked up two pins in the tournament, pinning his second round opponent in just two minutes while he pinned his opponent in the championship bout in just over a minute.

Tannahill has picked up four tournament championships this season, including a second place finish at the Baldwin Invitational.

He went 33-8 last season and reached the state tournament where he finished with a 1-2 record after claiming a Big 7 League title and taking third at regionals.

Tannahill will look to continue his success coming up Thursday, as Holton will wrap up the regular season hosting Tonganoxie.
