Year after year, the Centralia Panther football continues to find ways to be successful and peak at the right time in order to make a deep playoff run.

This season is no different as Centralia, who started the season 0-2, has won eight straight games including a 41-18 win over Troy last week to move into the sectional round of the 1A playoffs.

A big reason and key to the success of the Panthers this season has been the play of junior quarterback Kamble Haverkamp who has burst onto the scene and is now a known name across the state.

Last week Haverkamp showed once again why he may be one of the best players in the 1A classification after rushing for over 100 yards and two more touchdowns in the win over Troy.

On the season Haverkamp has put up video game-like numbers, rushing for 1,373 yards and 19 touchdowns averaging 137 yards on the ground per game.

Through the air Haverkamp has been just as good, as he has completed over 52 percent of his passes for 670 yards and 10 more touchdowns.

He has rushed for over 100 yards in every game so far this season except for one, and also has two 200 yard rushing games on the year.

Haverkamp has the Panthers in the perfect spot heading into the sectional round of the playoffs, but Centralia will face their toughest test to this point taking on No. 2-ranked Olpe at home Friday night with kickoff scheduled for 7:00.
