In the sport of football, although it is a team sport some nights you simply need one individual to step and will a team to victory.
For the McLouth Bulldog football team Friday night they needed just that and got it, as senior quarterback Jeremy Carlton delivered a memorable performance leading McLouth to a thrilling 26-24 win over West Franklin.
In the win Carlton did it all. Passing the football he was 18 for 21 with 157 yards and two touchdowns, while also carrying 28 times for 169 yards and another score.
Carlton didn’t stop there. With little time remaining on the clock and Bulldogs trailing, he became a receiver and caught the game-winning touchdown from Garrison Pope. Carlton finished the game with two catches for 23 yards and a score.
He is in his fourth season as the signal caller for the Bulldogs, coming off being named an All-NEKL selection the past two seasons.
Carlton has the Bulldogs off to a 2-3 start in 2018, and will look to put together another strong performance this week on the road at Oskaloosa.
