An unblemished record and number one ranking in the state all season in his weight class, that’s still not enough for Jeff West Tiger junior, Justin Scott as he as his sight set on state. Justin has been dominating his opponents on the mat all season in the weight class of 220lbs to the tune of a perfect 32-0 record heading into regionals this weekend.
Scott, who has been ranked number one all season in Class 4A at 220lbs sweeping his competition thus far this season. Justin tallied six tournament wins this season winning the Mission Valley, Pleasant Ridge, Herington, St. Mary’s, KC Piper and Atchison tournaments. This past weekend, Justin took home his second Big Seven League title behind a 2-0 day with a pinfall win in 16 seconds in the semifinals, while winning the finals via a 6-2 decision.
While, Justin’s had success all season his sights are turned to repeating as regional champion then moving to the state tournament to claim a state title, that he came so close to claiming last year.
Last year, Scott tallied a record of 35-3 on the season on his way to a state runner-up finish in the 220lbs weight class.
Blossoming into a dominating performer on the mat that is what Justin Scott has done during his high school career and he’s looking to cap of a storybook season with another regional title and more importantly a state championship.
