The Frankfort Wildcat football team is off to one of the hottest starts around the state of Kansas with a 3-0 start outscoring opponents 168-24.
Frankfort has yet to play into the fourth quarter of any game this season, with the latest victory for the Wildcats coming in a 54-6 beat down of Doniphan West.
A key piece to the success of the Wildcats last Friday night was the play of junior Garret Dalinghaus, who offensively racked up 92 yards on the ground to go along with two touchdowns.
Perhaps Dalinghaus’ biggest contribution came defensively, as the junior totaled 11 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one tackle for loss and two fumble recoveries.
On the season Dalinghaus has emerged as the top tailback for head coach Nick Anderson and the Wildcats, as he is up 284 yards rushing through three games with six touchdowns on just 22 rushes while averaging over 12 yards per rush.
As a sophomore, Dalinghaus led the Wildcats in rushing totaling 695 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns, averaging over five yards per carry.
Dalinghaus and the Wildcats will look to continue their hot start this week with a non-district game traveling to Wetmore.
