Tannahill's Big Night Propels Holton Football to First Win of 2018
Konnor Tannahill

Heading into last Friday night’s game against Nemaha Central, the Holton Wildcat football team was looking to forget about what was a disappointing first two games to the 2018 season.

The Wildcats did just that, picking up their first victory of the season taking down Thunder at home in a thriller 37-32 racking up 320 rushing yards in the contest.

A big portion of the rushing attack came from sophomore Konnor Tannahill, who racked up over 150 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Tannahill scored on runs of five, 47, four, and one yard.

Entering Friday night he had less than 100 yards rushing and only one score, but Nemaha Central just had no answer for the sophomore.

After the big game Friday night Tannahill is now the leading rusher for the Wildcats with 239 yards compiled on the ground and five touchdowns.

He is in just his first season at the varsity level, while last season as a freshman wrestler reached the state tournament going 1-2 in the 182 pound class.

Tannahill and the Wildcats will look to build on Friday night’s win, as Holton will open up district play this week at Hiawatha.
