After a dominating season opening win, a lot of times it’s hard to judge whether a team is just that good or just had everything going their way that night.
For the Jackson Heights Cobras they showed their season opening 42-0 win over Horton was not a fluke, as they followed that up last Friday night with a 38-0 beat down of new Northeast Kansas League opponent ACCHS.
Helping lead the way for the Cobras was Cooper Williams, as the junior running back put together a performance for the books rushing for 280 yards on just 11 carries with three touchdowns in the win over the Tigers
Williams is off to one of the better rushing starts around the state of Kansas, as through two games he has already compiled 438 yards on the ground to go along with four touchdowns.
Williams is also in his first season as a running back for the Cobras, as last season he was the teams signal caller rushing for 367 yards and five touchdowns while also passing for 167 yards and two more scores.
Through the first two games this season Williams and the Cobras have been clicking on all cylinders, as Jackson Heights has not allowed a score all season long outscoring opponents 80-0.
Williams and the Cobras will look to continue their hot start to the season this Friday night, as Jackson Heights will have their toughest test to date going on the road to Maur Hill-Mount Academy (2-0) with live coverage on KAIR 93.7 FM.
