Branden Bussmann

Frankfort boy’s golf team has racked up top performance after top performance throughout the season and on their way to seven first place team performances several of the Wildcat golfers have enjoyed top individual rounds.

Sophomore, Branden Bussmann has been helping lead the way for Frankfort this season along with his teammates and last week Bussmann finished first in two events for the Wildcats. Frankfort claimed first at the Washington County Invite with a team score of 344 winning by 50-strokes and Bussmann shot an 80 to win by three-strokes out of 30 golfers. Bussmann also carded a 78 at the Onaga Invite and took first place by seven-strokes at the event while Frankfort won the team title by 60-strokes with a 339 team score.

Throughout the season Bussmann and his teammates have compiled top flight individual rounds and for Branden on top of his two first place performances he took fourth at the Frankfort Invite (92), fourth at the Twin Valley League meet (86) and fifth place at the Centralia Invite (89).

Last year Bussmann competed as part of the Frankfort golf team that took fourth at State in Class 1A out of 12 teams as he shot a 100 to tie for 41st out of 89 golfers.

Bussmann and his teammates look to continue their strong year on the links when they compete at Regionals and look to earn a return trip to State.
