Nemaha Central Thunder junior, Jacy Dalinghaus has tossed her way past the competition this season putting together a strong track and field season in the three throwing events.
At the KU Relays the Thunder junior notched a fifth place showing out of 25 competitors in the javelin (134’08), while also placing 11th in the discus (116’09) out of 24 throwers competing against some of the best throwers in the State.
On top of the showing at the KU Relays Dalinghaus helped the Lady Thunder take first place at the Republic County Invite in the Division II competition. Jacy with a toss of 134’05 won the javelin and took second in the discus (117’0) and shot put (39’01).
Earlier in the season at the Nemaha Central Invite Dalinghaus swept the throwing events taking gold in the javelin, shot put and discus, while at the Silver Lake Invite she won the javelin and shot put and took second in the discus. All while helping the Lady Thunder take first place as a team at each meet.
Last year at State Dalinghaus helped the Nemaha Central girls win the Class 3A State track title as a team and did so by capturing the 3A discus (127’03) State title herself. She added a third place finish in the shot put (40’05.25) and fifth place finish in the javelin (133’08). As a freshman she finished 11th at State in the discus.
Dalinghaus looks to finish her track and field season strong and make a return trip to Wichita to compete at State.
