Zachary Buessing

After a strong track season last year Nemaha Central Thunder senior, Zachary Buessing entered this track season looking to punctate his high school career with a strong senior season.
Buessing thus far has put forth a strong year in track competition most recently competing against some of the other top high school athletes at the annual KU Relays where Zachary placed eighth in the 300 meter hurdles (40.41) out of 33 competitors and ninth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.57) out of 37 competitors.
Last week Buessing also helped the Nemaha Central boys track team take second at the Republic County Invite in the Division II competition as he won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 15.56 and 41.59. The Thunder senior also was part of the 4x400 meter relay team that earned third.
At the Silver Lake and Nemaha Central Invite’s he won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles earlier in the season. At the Nemaha Central Invite Buessing also helped the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams take first place, while the Thunder boys won the team title. The 4x400 meter relay team also took first at the Silver Lake and Buessing competed on the team.
As a junior last year Buessing finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.43) and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles (40.69). He also competed as part of the 4x400 meter relay team at State last year, while as a sophomore competed in both hurdle events at State.
Buessing looks to finish his senior campaign on the track in strong fashion and make a return trip to Wichita to compete at State.
