The Sabetha Bluejays boy’s golf season has teed off and it’s been a strong start with the flight pattern leading to a pair of team first place finishes.

Last week the Bluejays earned top team tops at their home Invitational and also the Nemaha Central Invite with senior, Garrett Scott helping lead the charge. Scott shot an 81 at the Sabetha Invite to take first place individually on the day out of 33 golfers and helped the Bluejays win the six-team and four-man team titles on the day with scores of 532 and 341. Bluejays won each team title by 77 and 61 strokes, respectively at their home meet.

Scott later in the week shot a 70 at the Nemaha Central Invite to take first place individually competing against 73 other golfers on the day. The Bluejay senior also partnered up with his teammates to post the top four-man team score with a 309 to win that title by 21 strokes.

The Bluejay senior has enjoyed a strong career on the links for the Bluejays that includes as a junior finishing 11th at the Class 3A State tournament while Sabetha as team took fourth.

Scott is also set to continue his golf career at the next level in college as he has committed to Kansas City Kansas Community College to play golf.

With the season off and rolling Scott and the Bluejays boys golf team look to build upon their strong start to the season and push towards another run at a strong year and State.
