The Axtell Eagles are riding a four-game winning streak and playing some strong basketball as the end of the regular season looms close.
Axtell boys are 8-9 on the season after beating Pawnee City 51-48 and topping Linn 57-53 last week. Helping lead the way for the Eagles in the wins was Hunter Koch who scored 16 points against Pawnee City and then posted a season 27 points against Linn.
Over the course of the season Koch has been helping lead the way for the Eagles as he’s averaging 14.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals per game. Koch has recorded double figures in 13 games this season for Axtell.
Koch and Axtell look finish out the season strong and make a run in the postseason to earn a return trip to the 1A-Division II State tournament.
