Jeff West lady Tigers are on a roll sitting at 14-2 and riding an 11-game winning streak as the regular season end looms.
Last week the Tigers pounced on a pair of wins over ACCHS and Holton winning 48-21 and 37-28, respectively. Helping led the way in those games and this season has been the play of senior, Mariah Murdie. Murdie notched nearly half of the teams points against ACCHS scoring 22 points and finishing with a double-double with 11 rebounds, while adding four steals and four blocks. The Tiger senior added a 14 point performance with eight rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks against Holton.
On the year Murdie is averaging a double-double with 16 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, while added 2.6 steals, 1.7 assists and 3.8 blocks per game. She’s also shooting 57% from the floor on the year. Mariah has recorded double figures in 14 of Jeff West’s 16 games this season with nine double-doubles. Murdie’s best scoring performance came against Riverside when she dropped 32 points, while she recorded a 17 rebound game against Sabetha earlier in the year and also had two games with eight blocks.
Murdie is set continue her basketball career after high school next year at the NCAA Division I level playing for University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Tigers and Murdie finished as 4A-Division II State runner-ups last year have their sights set on finishing this season strong and making another push in the postseason to compete at the State tournament.
