There have been 21 Twin Valley League tournaments since it started in 1997 and the Centralia lady Panthers have won it 13 times and including the last four.
Contributions have come throughout the season for Centralia and during the run to the TVL Tournament title also and the play of junior, Madison Lueger has been right at the forefront of the team’s success.
Centralia opened the TVL Tournament in the Quarterfinals against Blue Valley-Randolph and won 72-32 a game in which Lueger netted 13 points. Maddy then posted 15 points to help the Panthers top Hanover in the Semifinals 64-51 a win that avenged the teams only loss on the season. In the Championship contest Centralia trailed at the half and in the second half but mounted a comeback and Lueger scored 19 of her 21 points in the second half to help Centralia win 62-58 over Valley Heights.
On the season Lueger is averaging 16.6 points, eight rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. The junior has tallied double figures in 11 of the 12 including three 20+ point games with a season high 24 points against Blue Valley-Randolph.
The Panthers sit at 11-1 on the season and look to finish the regular season strong and gear up for another postseason and run and Lueger looks to help lead the way.
