Mclouth Bulldog, Garrison Pope Pours In Points to Help Lead Mclouth to Win Column
Garrison Pope

The Mclouth Bulldog boys basketball team is off to one of their best starts to a season in years sitting a 5-4 on the season and have already surpassed the win last year’s win total.

After a couple of tough losses out of the holiday break the Bulldogs bounced back nicely last week beating Heritage Christian 62-54 and topping Valley falls 60-35. Junior, Garrison Pope led the way in both wins tallying a combined 59 points in the two victories. Pope went off for 29 points against Heritage Christian for the Bulldogs hitting five three-pointers and going 8-13 from the free throw line. The junior followed that up with a 30 point performance against Valley falls spreading the scoring out with five or more points in each quarter.

On the year Pope is averaging 20.5 points, two rebounds, two assists and 2.5 steals per game this season, while shooting 52% from two-point range, 35% from three and 72% from the free throw.

Mclouth has seen Pope notched double figures in every game this season and tallied 20+ points four times on the year.

Pope hopes to continue his strong play and with his teammates the Mclouth Bulldogs look to continue to put together good season as they look to build upon a solid start.
