After a solid campaign last year the Frankfort Wildcats return with most of their team back looking to take another step up the ladder in the Twin Valley League and postseason and they’re off to a strong start winning the first two games of the season.
After taking a 3A power in Silver Lake to the brink a year ago in the season opener the Wildcats topped the Eagles 52-43 to open this season. Junior, Emilee Ebert led the way jumping right back into a top scoring role on the Wildcat team as she netted 17 points and went 7-13 from the free throw line in the contest.
Ebert and the Wildcats hit the court again on Friday after Thursday’s win and snagged another victory beating Pawnee City 49-24. Emilee once more led the team on the night posting 16 points in the win.
The junior in the first two games snatched 24 rebounds, dished out nine assists, had six steals and four blocks to go along with her 33 points scored.
The Wildcats have their sights set on a top flight finish in the TVL and a postseason run and Ebert and her teammates look to build upon their strong 2-0 start to the season.
