Carter Bruna

The Hanover Wildcats have now won 23-straight games and are back in the Sub-State round of the 8-Man DII playoffs for the sixth straight year after a 58-12 win over Caldwell on the road in the Sectional round of the playoffs.

Hanover trailed after the first quarter and led only by two-points at halftime but used a 44-0 second half to grab the win over Caldwell and the ground game led the way with 241 yards with junior, Carter Bruna leading the charge. Bruna ran 16 times for 143 yards with two touchdowns giving up 100+ yards rushing for the third straight game and his impact didn’t stop there as he registered 14 tackles on defense in the win.

On the year Hanover has been dominating their opponents and Bruna has been a key piece to the team’s success. Out of the backfield the Wildcat junior has ran for 682 yards on 66 carries with 15 touchdowns while rushing for 10.3 yards per carry and has also caught a pair of touchdowns. Defensively Bruna is third on the team with 55 tackles and has three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two interceptions one of which he returned for a touchdown.

The Wildcats are looking to return to the State title game for the fourth straight year and repeat as the 1A-DI State champs. In order to get back to the State title game Hanover will have to get through Pike Valley who they play on Friday, November 17th at home in the Sub-State round of the 8-Man DII playoffs.
