The Jefferson County North Chargers have charged out to a 4-0 start to the football season and are ranked #2 or #3 in several Class 2-1A polls across the State.
Last week JCN dispatched Oskaloosa 50-8 and senior, Ridge Robertson continued his strong play to open the season as he returned this year after missing the final three games last year with a broken leg. Robertson spear headed the offense against Oskaloosa rushing for 221 yards on nine carries with four touchdowns and also caught a 42-yard touchdown pass.
On the season Robertson has been at the forefront of success for the Chargers has he’s ran for 556 yards on 32 carries with 10 touchdowns, while catching a touchdown pass on offense. On defense the Charger senior has registered eight tackles and has an interception and also has made a big impact on special teams with a 77-yard punt return touchdown and 80-yard kickoff return touchdown. Through four games Robertson had ran for 90 or more yards in each game with at least one rushing touchdown.
Last year Robertson performed strong for the Chargers finishing with 724 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns before missing the final three games of the season.
JCN looks to take their strong start to the season and charge into the rest of the year looking to put together a season that gets them into the postseason.
