The track and field season is off and running as most area teams have logged one competition if not a couple. The Centralia Panthers track teams are off to a strong with several competitors including junior, Dylan Boeckman.
Boeckman through two meets has registered several top notch performances posting the top times and marks. To start the year the Panther junior won the 300 meter hurdles and pole vault at the Valley Heights Invite registering a time of 42.54 to take the hurdles and with a mark of 12’06 won the pole vault.
Dylan followed that up later in the week by winning both events again claiming the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 43.90 at the Frankfort Invite and again posting a vault of 12’06 to win the pole vault. He also partnered up with three other Panther runners to win the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays with times of 3:52.65 and 9:24.26.
As a sophomore, Boeckman qualified for the State Track meet and notched a second place finish in the pole vault in Class 1A.
The Centralia junior looks to continue his early strong start to the track season throughout the season and work himself back to the State meet in Wichita in May.
