The Frankfort Lady Wildcats returned four starters this season all seniors and knew they could be a team to be reckoned with this season in the TVL and possibly beyond; a big reason for that has been the play of senior guard, Jessa Jones.
Wildcats are off to a 6-1 start this season and Jones has been a huge part to the success of the squad tallying double figures in every contest thus far, posting a season average of 15 points per game through the first seven games of the season.
The first team All-TVL player last year, coming out of the break only scored 11 points against Centralia in the Wildcats 42-37 win but it’s when and how she scored those points that stood out. Jessa went off for all 11 of her points in the second half, taking control of the game as the floor general for Lady Wildcats pacing the way to the win.
In the season opener she lead the team in scoring with 13 points against Pawnee City, then followed that performance with an outpouring of 26 points against Linn in a win.
Jessa has been a leader on the court for a team that returned four starters this season and she has worked her way into a true floor general on the court helping Frankfort of to their 6-1 start this season. Jones will be an integral part to the success of the Wildcats the remainder of the season, as she looks to finish off her high school basketball career with a stellar season with her teammates.
