Shay Tanking

The Holton lady Wildcats are rolling this basketball season sitting at 8-1 and ranked fourth in the latest KBCA 4A-Division II rankings.
Last week the Wildcats picked up Big Seven League wins over Sabetha, 59-34 and Hiawatha, 58-47 and junior, Shay Tanking continued her strong season continuing to pour in the points. Against Sabetha, Tanking went 5-10 from three-point range and finished with 25 points in the game, while adding three rebounds and three assists. Against Hiawatha the Wildcats used a strong fourth quarter to take the win in what was a tight ballgame the first three quarters and Shay notched 19 points and tied her season high in rebounds with eight.
On the year Tanking is putting up 20.4 points per game for Holton, along with five rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game, while shooting 46% from the floor and 33% from three-point range. Tanking is also hitting 73% from the charity stripe on the season.
Tanking has recorded double figures in all nine games this season scoring 12 or more points in every game and 20-plus points four times, including a 32-point outpouring against Royal Valley.
Holton Wildcats look to continue their strong season competing at the Basehor-Linwood Invitational for mid-season tournament play and Tanking looks to continue to help lead the way for Holton.
