The Valley Heights Mustangs boys’ basketball team has galloped out to their best start in three years on the basketball court starting the season 3-0.
Last week the Mustangs took down a pair of Twin Valley League teams winning 66-36 over Blue Valley-Randolph and topped Frankfort 58-39, while opening the season with a win over Riley County on the road. Helping lead the charge this season is senior, Adrian Pishny who has put up some big numbers in the first three games of the year. Pishny in the most recent win against Frankfort finished with 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, scoring eight points in the second quarter when Valley Heights went on their run to take the lead and tallied eight points fourth to help secure the win.
He’s also registered big double-doubles in the other games this season recording a 14 point and 17 rebound game versus Blue Valley and 11 points and 12 rebounds against Riley County. On the year Adrian is averaging 15.6 points and 14.3 rebounds per game through the first three contests, after averaging just a few points last year.
Pishny has been one of the leaders helping the Mustangs off to a great start with his fellow upperclassmen and a group of younger guys as Valley Heights has their sights set on continuing their success this season and challenging the TVL and Sub-State play.
