It's been a fast start to the season for the Onaga Buffaloes as they are off to a perfect 6-0 start this season and have moved in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) polls ranked seventh in the latest poll.
A big part of the success for the Buffaloes on the hardwood this season as been the leadership, discipline and play on play on the court of senior, Thomas Eisenbarth. Eisenbarth has picked up his play again this season and along with becoming a leader with fellow senior, Mitchell Kufahl.
Thomas has helped propel Onaga to their fast start behind multiple double figures with his season high of 16 points coming against Jackson Heights as part of the St. Mary's Duals, were Onaga went 3-0 in competition. He also chipped in 14 points versus Linn and Blue Valley-Randolph and 13 points against Wabaunsee most recently.
Through five games, Thomas is posting a stout stat line with 12.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 2.7 apg and 3 spg. While is stats are impressive, perhaps Eisenbarth's leadership, discipline and intangibles are his greatest asset he brings to the table to help the big core of sophomores on the Buffaloes squad and the overall team chemistry leading to Onaga's success on the court.
Buffaloes are looking to continue their success this season and work their way to the top of the Twin Valley League this season and overall success behind their coach, Luke Baxter and the senior leadership of Thomas Eisenbarth.
