Lucas Broxterman

The track season has been a solid one so far and has continually gotten better for one Royal Valley Panther. Junior, Lucas Broxterman has enjoyed strong performances through all three competitions for the Panthers this year and put together his best showing last week.

At the Abilene Invitational against several top flight competitors Broxterman put together a trifecta day of gold winning all three events he was in. For the third time this year Lucas brought home the gold in the high jump but this time he posted his best mark of the year at 6’06 and won by six inches. The golds didn’t stop there as Broxterman also won the long jump and 300 meter hurdles. A leap of 19’03.50 grabbed first place in the long jump for the Panther junior, while he posted his fastest time on the year in the 300 meter hurdles to earn first (41.93).

It’s been a strong season all throughout all three track meets this season as Broxterman started the year winning the high jump at the Big Seven Quad hosted by Holton and took second in the long jump and third in the 300 meter hurdles. At the Panthers home Invitational Lucas again won the high jump, took second in the long jump and finished third in the 300 meter hurdles.

Lucas continues to improve as the track season rolls along and looks to continue that momentum to more top notch performances to push him into the League meet, Regionals and State.
