Basketball season has started of just like last season for the Lady Wetmore Cardinals and that is winning games and a big part of the Lady Cardinals success is someone quite familiar with the varsity level, senior point guard, Alayna Noe.
Alayna has started all four seasons at point guard on varsity while at Wetmore and helped them enjoy success on the hardwood. This season she has already started off with a bang helping the Lady Cardinals win their first two games and leading the team in scoring in both of them.
The Lady Cardinals dispatched Jackson Heights in the season opener, 59-20 and then took down Lewiston 55-26 on Saturday. Alayna in the season opener put up 17 points and scored her points in all types of ways going 4-6 from inside the arc, 2-4 from three-point land and 3-6 from the charity strip. Next game, Noe one upped herself in game two of the season as she poured in 21 points on 8-10 shooting from inside the arc, while adding a pair of free throws and a three-pointer.
Noe, has been an integral part of the Wetmore Lady Cardinals basketball success over the last few years as she helped the team to the state tournament last year and a fourth place finish with a 22-4 record. Alayna has earned All-League honors in the Twin Valley League as a junior and sophomore, while last season earning All-State honorable mention honors, too.
Wetmore is off to a fast start this season and looking to make noise in the TVL and make a run at state yet again and Alayna Noe will be a big part of the Lady Cardinal success this season.
