Kenzie Blevins

Sprinting and leaping past the competition that is what Doniphan West Mustang senior, Kenzie Blevins has been doing so far to start the track season.
Two track meets and eight gold medals for Blevins so far who has her sights set on a return trip to State track in May and looking to finish her high school track career strong before heading to Washburn University to continue that career.
The season opened up for Blevins and Doniphan West at the Falls City Triangular and Kenzie started the season strong sweeping all four events she competed in. With times of 13.55 and 29.26 the senior took gold in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while posting leaps of 16’00 and 34’06.50 to win the long jump and triple jump.
The competition picked up at the next meet but Blevins continued to dominate as she swept all four of her events at the Oskaloosa Invitational last week. Kenzie improved upon her times in the 100 and 200 meter dashes taking first behind times of 13.37 and 29.10, while recording leaps of 15’11 and 33’06 to win the long jump and triple jump titles again on the young track season.
Last year as a junior Blevins qualified in Class 1A for State in all four events and looks to repeat that feat this year and improve upon her finishes from last year. Blevins notched a sixth place finish in the 100 meter dash (12.90), eighth place in the triple jump (34’07.25) and ninth place in the long jump (16’02.50), while qualifying in the 200 meter dash. She also took fifth place in the long jump back in 2014 as a sophomore.
The track season has just gotten underway from Blevins is already off to a hot start and looks to continue that momentum and better her marks all her in hopes of returning to State to cap her high school career.
