The Nemaha Central Thunder boys have started put things together and it’s showing in their play on the court as they claimed their home tournament the Thunder Classic championship last weekend.
One of the guys leading the charge for the Thunder is senior, Luke Holthaus who in the last six games has registered double figures including two of his top performances of the season coming in the Thunder Classic. Nemaha Central topped Horton 59-28 in the first round of the tournament and Holthaus posted 14 points. Luke followed that up with a season high 24 points in a 60-43 win over Marysville in the Semifinals and helped the Thunder win their home Tournament with a 44-41 win in the Championship game against Falls City, a game in which he scored 19 points.
On the year Holthaus has been helping led the Thunder who are 9-3 on the season by averaging 12.3 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and one steal per game. The senior has reached the double figure plateau in nine of the teams 12 games this season.
Riding a four game winning streak the Thunder look to continue to keep rolling in the second half of the season and Holthaus looks to help lead the way for Nemaha Central.
