Cooper Leach

The Doniphan West Mustangs have galloped out to a 6-0 start this season coming off their runner-up finish in 1A-Division I last year.

A key part to that success has been the play of senior, Cooper Leach who has lit up the scoreboard and made several plays throughout the 6-0 start to the year. Leach is averaging 20.5 points per game this season along with around 8.5 rebounds per game and four assists per game.

Last week Leach helped the Mustangs perhaps get their best win of the season as they won a battle of unbeaten teams by topping Centralia in a double overtime thriller, 59-55. Leach matched his season high in the game scoring 24 points, a total he’s now reached three times this season.

Doniphan West followed that up with a tough road win at Clifton-Clyde, 56-32 and Leach contributed 16 points in the victory.

On the season Leach has scored 14 or more points in all six games and continues to look forward to greater goals this season for the Mustangs, as Leach and his teammates have their sights set on another postseason run.
