The Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens have flew out to a 5-1 start this season and picked up a pair of Northeast Kansas League road wins last week over McLouth and Jefferson County North.
The play of senior, Avery Lewman has been at the forefront of the Ravens success this season as she herself either outscored or scored as much points as Maur Hill’s opponents last week. The week started with a 54-18 win at McLouth a game in which Lewman tallied 19 points, outscoring the Bulldogs herself in the contest.
Ravens followed that up with a 36-21 win at Jefferson County North and Lewman posted her best offensive game of the season scoring a season high 21 points, while going 10-12 from the free throw line.
Lewman has been a steady hand leading the Ravens all season as she’s filling the stat line on a nightly basis averaging 14.3 points per game, four rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game and 4.1 steals per game. The senior has tallied double figures in four of the team’s six games this season.
The Ravens look to continue their success this season and Lewman is at the front leading the way on the court with her teammates as Maur Hill continues their flight this season.
