Chelsey Trautloff

The basketball season is underway and while it opened up for the lady Chargers of Horton with a tough three-point loss at Maur Hill, things have looked pretty good overall.

The Chargers after their season opening 31-28 loss responded last week to win a pair of Northeast Kansas League games beating McLouth, 43-27 and Jefferson County North, 46-32. Leading the charge in both wins was Horton senior, Chelsey Trautloff as she poured in 19 points in the win over McLouth and followed that up with a 17 point performance against JCN to help Horton win the battle of the Chargers.

Through the first three games of the season Trautloff has averaged 13.7 points per game to help the Chargers start the year 2-1.

The senior is in her fourth year at the varsity level for Coach Ken Shippy and the Horton Chargers and brings not only her great play to the floor but also brings strong leadership and basketball IQ to the Chargers. Trautloff looks to help the Chargers put together a strong season in the NEKL.
