As the number one seed you come into a tournament was the favorite or at least one of the clear favorites and the Mound City lady Panthers showcased why they are a team to be reckoned with as they as the one seed won their own tournament last week in dominating fashion.
Sophomore, Kameron Freemyer helped spear head the early season success of the Panthers who blew past their opponents in the Mound City Tournament. The Panthers pounced on West Nodaway in the opening round winning 67-8 and Freemyer dropped 20 points in the contest. In the Semifinals it was 63-20 win over South Holt for Mound City and Kameron put up 25 points. The Championship was against Fairfax and Mound City won easily again, securing a 61-22 in as Freemyer once again reached double digits with 11 points.
In the tournament Freemyer was scoring 18.7 points per game connecting on 70% of her shots (24-34), while going 8-16 from the free throw line and averaging 10 rebounds per game and 2.7 steals per contest during the three-game tournament stretch. The sophomore is making a big impact early in the season for the Panthers and earned All-Tournament teams honors for her performances.
The Mound City Panthers are off to a 4-0 start to the season with the tournament crown and a season opening win over South Holt, also.
