Jaden Gillenwater

After a season opening lost to South Holt the Mound City Panther boys came into their tournament focused and it showed as they topped the competition winning the tournament as the three seed.

Senior, Jaden Gillenwater was at the forefront of the Panthers success on the court during the tournament run as he started the tournament with 28 points in the opening round win over Rock Port 52-47.

In the Semifinals the Panthers took on South Holt for the second time in the season and avenged their opening season loss to the Knights in come from behind fashion. Mound City trailed by 16 points in the second half but behind a pair of three-pointers from Gillenwater and a flurry from the Panthers Mound City came back for the 69-63 win and Jaden finished with 33 points.

The Championship game pitted the Panthers against North Nodaway and Mound City earned the 45-26 win as Gillenwater posted 23 points, scoring 15 points in the second half. The senior averaged 28 points per game and earned All-Tournament team honors.

The Mound City Panthers are now 3-1 on the season with the three wins in the tournament claiming their home tournament title.
