That includes the most recent competition where Shirley posted a time of 17:33.03 giving up other first place finish this season as he beat out 128 other runners at the Riley County Invitational.

Brodric added that first place finish to two other first place finishes this year and a pair of third place showings, also. On top of his individual performances he and his teammates partnered up to have several Top five team finishes on the season including second place the Centralia Invite, third at Marysville Invite and fifth at the most recent Riley County Invite.

Cross country wasn’t the only top notch performance last year as a freshman for Shirley as he picked up a pair of seventh place medals in Class 1A State track finishing seventh in the 1600 (4:47.83) and 3200 (10:14.26) meter runs.

Running is the name of the game and Frankfort Wildcat, Brodric Shirley has hit his stride early in his high school career continuing to blossom as a runner and looks to build upon his performances thus far with a few meets left and earn a return trip to State this year.
