Sadie Jones
|
Centralia Panther, Sadie Jones was on the prowl for a League championship and that is what she got just in her sophomore year, racing her way to the Twin Valley League girls cross country title with a time of 17:29.91 and won by over 30 seconds.
Jones not only captured the individual TVL cross country title but helped her team win the girls team crown topping the three of TVL teams that field enough runners to post a team score in the competition.
The sophomore has built a strong season thus far and looks only to continue that as she posted a ninth place finish at the Nemaha Central Invite (18:20.90), seventh place at the Riley County Invite (17:11.29) and sixth place at the Onaga Invite (19:21). While, also notching a pair of fourth place showings on the season in her home Centralia Invite (17:44) and posted a time of 16:49 at the Washington County Invite to earn fourth and also set a new school record in the process.
With a League title in her back pocket, Jones and the rest of the Panthers turn their attention to Regional action and perhaps a return trip to State in which Sadie as a freshman placed seventh in Class 1A at State with a time of 17:10.65.
