The Valley Falls Dragons have enjoyed a strong season on the volleyball court and behind the teams experience are 26-7 on the season and 12-0 in Northeast Kansas League play, under Coach Lori Glissman.
The team has notched second place finishes at their home Invitational and the Lyndon Invitational this season and put up a perfect 5-0 week last week beating Jackson Heights and Horton each twice and Troy, also, all in straight sets.
An integral and key part to the Dragons success this season has been the play of senior setter, Emily Lane. As the setter, Lane serves as the quarterback of the team on the floor helping set up her teammates in the right formations and orchestrating the offense setting up her teammates for the kills.
The Dragons have went to a 5-1 setup this year and Lane has sacrificed her hitting but has the team clicking with great chemistry as she averages nearly eight assists per set. While, registering over 200 digs, over 50 kills and over 470 assists on the year.
The four-year varsity player has been quarterbacking the Dragons at the setter spot all year and the team chemistry has been evident as the Dragons are rolling and look to close out the volleyball regular season with momentum and head into the postseason looking to make noise and make a push to State.
