B&B Falcons have seemed to find a groove on the basketball recently winning their last seven games going back to the third place game in the Twin Valley League tournament and sit at 16-2 on the season and the #1 team in the Class 1A-DII polls.
One major part to the success of the Falcons this season is the core group of seniors leading the team and one of those seniors has turned up the scoring recently for B&B leading the team in scoring the four of the last six games.
Katie Huerter two games ago busted out for 26 points in a 53-32 win over Axtell, surpassing her previous high this season by seven points. Huerter was 11-19 from the floor and scored 12 of the team’s first 18 points in the game, while adding five assists on the night.
The B&B senior in her last four games have posted double figures, scoring 10 vs. Linn on Monday, 26 against Axtell and 18 vs. Wetmore and Marais des Cygnes and posted double figures in six of seven in the Falcons current winning streak averaging 15.4 ppg over that time frame.
Balanced scoring, discipline play and team chemistry as pushed the Falcons to another great season thus far with their sights on a potential return to the State tournament. The senior core on the team as lead the team all season and Huerter has been the sparkplug recently for the team as they remain ranked #1 in the State in Class 1A-Division II.
