Centralia Panther, Lukas Koch Out Running the Competition
Lukas Koch

Running is the name of his game and he's pretty exceptional at what he does; that is Centralia Panther Lukas Koch. Lukas a senior has raced his way to success throughout his high school career and this year is no different as he's been dominate across the cross country season, this year.

Koch, so far has competed in five competitions thus far and won them all; as he opened the 2012 season with a win at the Marysville Invitational with a time of 17:21.91. He went to to string wins together this season at the Washington County Invite (17:22.63), Onaga Invite (16:39.93) and the Nemaha Valley Invite (17:06.66).

Most recently Koch, competed on his home course in Centralia and like he has all season, registered another first place finish but this wasn't just any first place finish for Koch, as he broke a school and course record with a time of 15:54.

With only one regular season meet and the league meet left before regionals and state, Koch looks to swept the regular season meets and has his eyes on the big prize a state title in Class 1A. Last year, as a junior Koch registered a time of 17:06 at state giving him a second place finish. He finished ninth as a sophomore at state back in 2009.

Koch's running success doesn't stop in the field of cross country as this past spring he competed in the state track and field competition sweeping the distance races of 800M (1:59.34), 1600M (4:29.29) and the 3200M (9:50.60).

Continuing the success he's set forth thus far continues to drive Lukas as he looks to continue to compile the accolades in his high school career.
