Jeff West Tiger Grappler, Justin Scott Dominating Foes to Perfect Record
Justin Scott

You have to go back to the 2012-2013 wrestling season to find the last time Jeff West Tiger senior grappler, Justin Scott suffered a loss on the mats as he’s compiled a 59-0 record through his junior and senior year so far.

Scott dominated his opponents last year on the mats on his way to 39-0 and Class 4A State champion at 220lbs, going 4-0 at State with four pinfall wins all under 1:40. That dominance on the mat has continued into Justin’s senior year as he has dominated all opponents that have lined up against him in the circle this year at 285lbs.

Justin owns a 20-0 record thus far this season and has helped the Tigers have great success on the mat as a team this year, as well. The senior has won every single match this season by fall and multiple of those matches have come in under one minute and some under 30 seconds. While Justin has allowed only one point scored against him this season, too and that came via his mistake as the point was awarded by a penalty.

Most recently Scott took to the mat with his teammates in the KC Piper Invitational and put up a 4-0 day helping his team capture a first place performance at the tournament. Scott opened the tournament with a first round win by pin in just 17 seconds and breezed through the second round winning in just nine seconds by pin. His next match up the senior needed only 38 seconds to secure a spot in the championship bout were he won by pinfall in 5:39 his only non-first period fall victory this season.

The number one ranked wrestler at 285lbs in 4A, Scott looks to continue his dominance on the mat for the Tigers through the rest of the season, looking to finish his high school career with another State title under his belt.
