Chase Grizzle
|
Adversity is something everyone faces at one point and for senior, Chase Grizzle he faced it last year when he suffered an ACL injury that he would have to battle back from to be ready for his senior season at Pawnee City.
Grizzle has showed grit all season and led the charge for the Indians bursting back from his injury in a big way and most recently helping lead the way for the Indians to claim the MUDECAS “B” Division tournament crown in Beatrice.
Chase and his teammates opened the tournament up with a 52-25 win over Meridian were the senior filled the stat sheet with 19 points, five rebounds, three steals, three blocks and one assist. The top flight performances didn’t stop there for Chase in the tournament.
Pawnee City took to the court in the semifinals and squared off with Diller-Odell earning a 47-39 win in which Grizzle tallied 10 points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists.
The senior, saved his best performance for last as he poured in 27 points, hitting five three-pointers in the Indians 52-47 win over Bruning-Davenport-Shickley in the Championship game. Grizzle again filled the stat sheet alongside his points grabbing four rebounds, dishing out three assists and nabbing a steal.
Battling back from an injury is never an easy thing and let allow an ACL injury that that is what Grizzle has done to take the reins of the Indians this year helping them to their 8-4 record thus far this season behind his 18.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.1 spg and 48% three-point shooting.
For Grizzle the climb back doesn’t stop with the success thus far in the season as he looks to continue that success this year with his teammates as they next hit the court on Friday against Falls City Sacred Heart on the road. You can listen to the game on Sunny 101.3 FM on Friday night.
