The Bluejays have won a trio of games decided by six points or less and won three blowout games, too and a big part of Sabetha’s success has been the play of sophomore, Alexis McAfee.
Alexis put on a show last week for the Bluejays as they flew home with a pair of road wins at Hiawatha and Holton to move to 4-0 in Big Seven League action, as she posted 21.5 ppg and shot 58% from three-point land (7-12) in the two contests.
The sophomore started her week by accounting for nearly half of her team’s points in a 48-27 win at Hiawatha as McAfee registered 23 points on the night, but was quite the stat-sheet stuffer in the game adding seven rebounds, five steals and three assists to her line in the win.
The scoring barrage continued for Alexis when she took to the court again last week this time against Holton as her performance encompassed with her teammates earned Sabetha the 44-41 road win over Holton. Alexis again posted nearly half of her team’s points on the night netting a 20 point night, while hitting 4-7 three-pointers.
On the season Alexis as lead the team in scoring in six of the seven games on the year and is posting a stat line of 15 ppg, 5 rpg, 3 spg and 3 apg.
The sophomore has the Bluejays rolling thus far this season as they look to continue their success on the court in search of a Big Seven title and run at a trip to the State tournament, again.
