Setting things up on a platter for her teammates all season that’s what former Holton Wildcat, Megan Rhule has been doing at Highland Community College for the volleyball team as the setter.
The Scotties volleyball teams is 13-5 on the season and 4-2 in Jayhawk Conference action including a three set win over 14th ranked Fort Scott in their latest match (25-17, 25-18, 25-19), winning their fourth straight match.
Rhule has been a huge part of the team’s success this season as a freshman making big impact for Highland volleyball. Against Fort Scott she notched 33 assists and nine digs in the win, while on the season she’s accumulated 454 assists (leads team) and 144 digs (third on team). The former Holton Wildcat also on the year in 18 matches played has 55 kills, 24 aces (second on team) and 21 blocks (third on team).
Megan has been setting up her teammates all year at a strong rate of success with 14 matches with 20+ assists and five contests with 30+, while being active defensively too with six matches notching 10 or more digs. Against Colorado Northwestern early in the season she amassed 42 assists her best match of the year in assists, while her career high digs with 18 came against Iowa Central. She also registered a six ace math against Bethany JV and finished with eight kills against Western Nebraska.
In high school Rhule was part of Holton teams that won 20+ matches all four of her years, while she was the starting setter for three seasons for Holton. Megan earned second team Class 4A All-State and was a two-time All-Big Seven honoree, while finishing with 1,599 assists and 173 aces at Holton.
The former Holton Wildcat looks to continue to blossom as a volleyball player and help her team continue to succeed while she continues her studies majoring in Criminal Justice.
