Connor Mickens

Hitting the links is something many people enjoy and former Jeff West Tiger, Connor Mickens turned a solid high school golf career into an opportunity to play at the college level and has done well at Bethel College.
Mickens now in his junior campaign has put together solid performances on the golf course to help led the way for the Bethel men’s golf team. The former Jeff West Tiger tied for seventh at the Kansas Wesleyan Invite this season with his team’s best performance finishing with a 72 competing against 87 other golfers. At the Central Christian Invite Mickens totaled a 156 posting rounds of 75 and 81 to tie for 20th out of 87 golfers, while at the Evangel Fall Invite a score of 157 (with rounds of 80 and 77) earned him a tied of 28th place.
As a sophomore last year he finished 26th at the KCAC Championship with a 232 posting rounds of 78, 80 and 74 and ultimately finished ranked tied for 22nd in the KCAC overall. Mickens also exceled off the course as he was selected as a 2016-17 KCAC Scholar Athlete, honors that are given to student athletes that letter in a sport and have a GPA of 3.333 or better.
Back in high school Mickens finished his Tiger golf career by placing fourth at Regionals (92) and then went on to place 41st in Class 4A (80) at the State tournament. Mickens was a multi-sport athlete competing in other sports along with golf.
Mickens looks to continue his success on the links and help the Bethel Threshers challenge and compete in the KCAC.
